Carl Follo, beloved partner of 35 years to Pam Beecher, passed away on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022. Born in Boston, he is the only son of the late Salvatore and Anna (Rubbico) Follo.
Carl grew up in East Boston and was a graduate of Boys English High School. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire.
Carl had a successful career as an executive in the Insurance industry. He was known for being a true leader and had many loyal employees, many of them becoming lifelong friends. Carl met his wife and partner while working and they married in Michigan. After retiring, Carl and Pam opened a hospitality business and became the owner of The Inn at Cranberry Farm in Vermont. He not only operated that business, but built and redesigned the property. He had large groups of repeat customers who loved the warm atmosphere that he and Pam had created. The Inn became a place for his family to gather as well. His large Italian family included his children, siblings and their children all coming together for holidays and reunions. Those memories will be cherished forever. After selling the Inn, Carl and Pam moved to Florida to enjoy retirement.
Carl was a master craftsman in the art of woodworking. He built fine furniture that will stand the test of time and be handed down for generations. He was an avid New England sports enthusiast, and he loved having conversations with friends Slim, Mica and nephews while smoking a great cigar. He was fortunate enough to have travelled the country he loved so much and was able to travel overseas to many other countries including visiting his father's home in Italy.
Carl was charismatic, had an incredible sense of humor and remained an optimist even in the most difficult situations. He was a dreamer and a visionary. He was a tenacious problem solver and led his life with integrity and kindness. In his most recent years, he became a political activist marching for the equality and freedom for all people. He was passionate about ensuring we protect our environment and our democracy. Carl was a proud member of the democratic party and an avid history buff.
His greatest joy came from his relationships with his friends and family in New England and being the one great love to Pamela Beecher of Delray Beach, Florida.
Carl is the devoted father of Renee Follo of NH and Carlo Follo, Jr. of NH and his "bonus" daughter Kathleen Grondine. He loved spending time with his grandpups Rocco, Gracie, Norman and Billy and his late dog Brandy.
Loving Brother to Josephine Colarusso and her husband Vincent and Gloria Almeida and her husband Michael, the late Marie Aiesi and her husband Joseph Aiesi, late Ann Carol Saviano and her husband Paul Saviano.
Carl was adored by his many loving nieces and nephews, their children, his cousins and godchildren. Carl leaves behind his best friend Peter "Slim" Potenza and his wife JoAnn and Mary Alice Karch.
