Carlo S. Spizzirri, Jr., 90, of Carbondale, died Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years EllaMarie (Shea) Spizzirri. They were married September 7, 1963.

Born May 1, 1935 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Carlo, Sr. and Rose (Artone) Spizzirri.

Carlo was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and then served in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of Spizzirri's Grocery Store, Green Street, Carbondale, and then worked many years for Kaplan's Meat Packing Company in Olyphant.

He was an avid sports fan and also had a deer cutting and packing business along with his sons Mike and Dave from his home. He enjoyed coffee with his friends every morning at McDonnell's Restaurant in Carbondale. His family would like to thank Gary Cotroneo for his longtime friendship to Carlo.

He is also survived by five children: Carla Spizzirri of Carbondale, Amy Spizzirri of Dallas, TX, Mike Spizzirri & wife Kelly of Carbondale, Lee Ann Potis & companion Rich Taylor of Eynon, and Dave Spizzirri of Carbondale; three grandchildren: Brianna Spizzirri, Justin & Tressa Potis; two sisters: Vicki Cerra & Mary Falvo, both of Carbondale and numerous nieces and nephews.

A blessing service was held Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 11:00 am from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Seth D. Wasnock. Interment with military honors, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.

Pallbearers: Mike Spizzirri, Dave Spizzirri, Joe Cerra, Joseph Cerra, Joe Cerra, and Justin Potis.

Friends called Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 9:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Carlo's name to Hospice of Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA 18512.
