Carlos Rodriguez Flores passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 74 on September 28, 2023. Carlos was born on November 1, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of the late Charles S. Flores and Rosa R. Flores.
At the early age of 19, Carlos enlisted into the U.S. Army, where he served as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his service, he returned home where he met the love of his life, Irma Flores. Together they shared 51 years of marriage and raised four wonderful children, Janet, Rosie, Virginia, and Carlos.
Carlos worked in carpentry and as a mechanic for many years after coming back from the war. He loved repairing and rebuilding cars in his spare time with his son, grandsons and son-in-laws. He often used his carpentry skills to make toys and items for his daughters. He loved dancing to 50s oldies music especially "The Twist". He also loved rooting for his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys while enjoying BBQ gatherings with his family. He enjoyed relaxing outside on his bench at home with his wife Irma and his little Chihuahua Girlie.
In addition to his loving parents Charles S. Flores and Rosa R. Flores, he is also preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Angel Castanon, Thomas Castanon and Charlene Flores.
Carlos is survived by his loving wife Irma Flores; daughters, Janet F. (Sergio) Castanon, Rosie F. (Mark) Salazar, Virginia F. (Eric) Juarez; a son, Carlos (Ruby) Flores; and numerous grandchildren, Eric Jr, Rosa, Carlos, Erica, Gabriel, Gilbert, Pearl, Lillian, J.R., Kamilia, Juan and Faith; two sisters, Margie F. Lopez and Eva F. Delgado in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
He will always be in Our Hearts.
