Carlos Mejias, age 83, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
Born on January 8, 1942, in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, Carlos was the son of the late Daniel Mejias and Josefa Vargas Mejias. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rosita Aguilar Otero, and his grandsons, Isaac Cataldo and Owen Henson.
Carlos is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Milagros "Millie" Rosado Mejias; his son, Juan Carlos Mejias and wife Juliet; daughters, Diana Henson and husband Ian, and Irene Cataldo and husband Ben; grandchildren, Ava, Arthur, Lily, Henry, and Adrian "AJ"; sister, Carmen Eva Lugo; and brother, Daniel Mejias Jr.
Carlos found joy in life's simple pleasures-fishing, cheering on the Yankees, and watching boxing and tennis. He spent most of his working years as a dedicated truck driver and machinist.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Chaplain Russell Richardson officiating. Visitation with the family will be held before the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
