Carlos Soliz
October 10, 1965 – April 14, 2025
Carlos Soliz, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2025, in Grottoes, Virginia. Born in Washington, DC, Carlos lived a life defined by kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion to those around him.
A proud graduate of McLean High School, Carlos furthered his education at Belmont Abbey College, where he cultivated a lifelong passion for learning. As a skilled computer technician and handyman, he was known for his expertise and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand. His warm demeanor and gentle spirit made everyone feel valued and understood.
Carlos was a passionate car enthusiast, particularly fond of muscle cars, and loved sharing this interest with friends and family. He found joy in music, good food, and the company of loved ones, turning every gathering into a memorable occasion.
A devoted family man, Carlos is survived by his mother, Nancy Villarroel; sisters, Ximena (Scott) Foster and Cynthia (Mike) Decker; nieces and nephews, Justin, Kira and Lexi Foster, Patrick (Blair, with children Eloise, Madeline, and Brooks) Decker, and Stephen Decker; as well as many loving aunts, cousins, and extended family members who cherished his presence. He also leaves behind his close friend Deborah Shifflett, whose companionship brought him great happiness. He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Soliz, Sr.
Carlos’ memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, forever cherished for his generosity and warmth. Rest in peace, dear Carlos.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, Falls Church, Virginia, followed by a gravesite blessing at National Memorial Park, Falls Church. A funeral reception will follow at 1050 Cedrus Lane, Great Falls, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Carlos Soliz’s burial fund are greatly appreciated to honor his memory.
