After several years of dating, Carlton asked Peggy for her hand in marriage. On October 11th 1997 they declared their love in front of family and friends.
Carlton had a great sense of humor and always full of Love and Laughter. Carlton was always willing to hand a helping hand when needed. Carlton made a living as a contractor and carpenter and took pride in the work he did.
Carlton was well known for joking and full of tricks. The kids were always amazed at how can he use a bird call to get their attention. Over the years he became well respected by his peers and those who knew him for his craftsmanship. His nickname was "Birdman" and "Smitty".
Carlton was a man of character and morals and will truly be missed by all.
Carlton leaves to cherish his wife of 27 years Peggy A. Smith of Plainfield N.J. 2 brothers in law Darryl and Greg Pyles of Plainfield. Two sister in law Cheryl and Anna Belin Pyles both of Plainfield N.J. and a host of other family and friends.
