Carlyle "Dean" Carnagey, Jr., 70, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 3 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends an hour before the service for a visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Dean to the Tunnel2Towers Foundation, https://t2t.org or The Lowcountry Food Bank, https://lowcountryfoodbank.org.
Dean was born on September 3, 1952 and is the son of Carlyle (Carl) D. Carnagey, Sr., and the late Laverne F. Carnagey. During his lifetime Dean received a Master's Degree and became the budget director for Trident Technical College. Dean also enjoyed photography and music.
Dean is survived by his wife, Carol Mitchell Carnagey of Summerville, SC; father, Carlyle (Carl) D. Carnagey, Sr. of El Paso, TX; daughters, Heather Overson (Tristen) of El Paso, TX, DeAnn Cope (Jay) of El Paso, TX; stepdaughters, Sheri Shea of San Antonio, TX, DeeDee Howard (Scott) of San Antonio, TX, Tracy Shaw (Bryan) of Summerville, SC; stepson, Travis Mitchell of Goose Creek, SC; sister, Linda Walker (Jerry) of Mason, OH; along with 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Dear Carol and family members, please accept mine and Donny´s condolences on the loss of our friend. We "Charleston group " had many years of friendship. Even though Donny and I moved away almost ten years ago I still recall all the parties we had or attended together. I´ll never forget the many times u were in our home for movie night, the Halloween parties and the Super Bowl parties at ur place. Great times, lots of laughs and love too. You´re in our prayers. Terry and Donny Brock.

I am so sad to hear of Deans passing. Life takes us in different directions and I had lost touch with my cousin. I´ll always have sweet memories of family get togethers. His father and my dad were brothers and worked for the El Paso fire department together. My condolences to Carol and his children and to his many friends and family. -Carmen Carnagey Lentz
