Carmen Abbott Anderson

Carmen Abbott Anderson, 96, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023.
Carmen was born on February 11, 1927, in Orange, Texas, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth Abbott. She grew up in Beaumont, Texas, and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1944. In 1949 she graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where she met Harry Louis Anderson whom she married on December 30, 1949. They had three children. (Laura, Richard, and Ellen)
Carmen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Libby Abbott Blalock; and her son, Richard Anderson. She is survived by her two daughters, Laura Anderson, and Ellen Anderson: six grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Cutter, Max Johnson, Jane Anderson Lemoine, Noah Anderson and Sam Anderson. She also has four great grandchildren, Jackson, Elias, Gideon Lemoine and Fern Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, with Reverend Andrew Christiansen officiating. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church or Harbor Hospice of Lake Charles. The family of Carmen would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of The Veranda and to the nurses and staff of Harbor Hospice.
