Carmen J. DiPersia

Carmen J. DiPersia, Age 93, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 21, 2024. Carmen was the dearly beloved husband of Geraldine "Gerry" (nee Ruggieri) DiPersia and the late Sue Cantor DiPersia. Devoted father of Daniel DiPersia and the late Cyndy DiPersia Schrenk. Loving grandfather of Susann, Danielle, Elizabeth, Daniel, and John. Dear brother of Jean Fuscellaro and the late Pat DiPersia. Cherished father-in-law of John Schrenk.
Carmen is a graduate of Southern High School, Class of 1948 and was a proud member of the baseball team, which inspired his love of all Philadelphia teams, but his favorite, being the Phillies. He enjoyed singing and had a singing career after winning an amateur contest under the stage name of Don Carmen. He became the featured singer for two years at Andys Log Cabin in Pensauken, NJ, and styled his singing after his idol, Perry Como. He was professionally trained by Frank Sinatra's trainer. Carmen spent many holidays breaking into song at the dinner table, and always reminded his grandchildren that he could sing better than any of those pop singers of today.
Carmen served proudly in the US Marine Corps for two years during the Korean Conflict. He worked for UPS, Sun Ray and Trans-Freight throughout his career as a Teamster. He enjoyed fixing his neighbors cars on Norwood Street on the weekends.
Carmen cherished his family and friends. He enjoyed the monthly luncheons of the Southern High School Alumni at the Philly Diner, family get together, weddings, and parties, which would always feature a song from Carmen's singing days. He will be missed dearly. As stated in one of Perry Como's greatest hits, "It's Impossible" to ever forget Carmen DiPersia.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday 10:15-11:45 AM at the Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM. Interment, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp.
