Carmen Pozniak Obituary
Her days were richly woven with devotion and joy. For 58 years, she shared a beautiful partnership with her cherished husband, Richard Pozniak, their bond a cornerstone of love and stability. Together, they nurtured a family whose joy multiplied through their children-Kerry (Lucy) Pozniak, Eric Pozniak, and Dana Pozniak Dondero-and extended through grandchildren Karin (Josh), Finnius, Rocco, Tanner and Dalton and the tender laughter of great-grandchildren Noah, Mason, and Ivy.
As the third eldest among her siblings, Carmen shared unbreakable bonds-remembering Gloria and Edward, who went before her, and holding close Cynthia and David, who continue to carry her love in their hearts.
Carmen's spirit found expression in the warmth of her home, where she delighted in cooking and hosting Christmas Eve dinners for decades. Her gatherings overflowed with laughter, joy, and the unmistakable magic of a heart that thrived in bringing people together. She cheered for the Detroit Lions with loyalty and zest, embraced the thrill of travel, and savored new experiences with the same enthusiasm she reserved for a fine glass of wine. Her playful heart delighted in card games and yard games with the grandchildren, and her fondness for Las Vegas reflected her love for life's brighter, vibrant moments.
Above all, what set Carmen apart was her extraordinary kindness and selflessness-an enduring light that touched every life she encountered. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity, a life fully lived and deeply cherished by all who knew her.
A Memorial Visitation will be held for Carmen on Monday, December 8th from 4:00-8:00pm; with a Scripture Service at 7:00pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park. A Memorial Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 9th. Family will receive guests starting at 10:00am until the start of the Mass at 10:30am at St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic Church, 1401 Whittier Rd., Grosse Pointe Park.
