Carnie Lee Parks, 74, of Ferges, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:45 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Carnie was born on October 27, 1950, in Harrisburg, to Blaine and Pauline (Turner) Parks. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beverly Grant, on July 13, 1987, in Paducah, Kentucky. They shared 38 years of marriage together.
Carnie was a 1968 graduate of Marion High School. After graduating, Carnie joined the work force and quickly became a master of all trades. He worked in coal mining construction, trucking, and went on to become a mechanic and retired from Shawnee Express.
Carnie was a family man and loved to be with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing with his wife, going on camping trips with his friends, and attending auctions. Carnie loved the Lord and attended Corinth Church.
Carnie is survived by his wife, Beverly Parks of Ferges; two daughters, Tawnya (Matthew) Odum of Marion and Twyla (Bryan) Cross of Marion; seven grandchildren, Drew Odum, Peyton Odum, Kara Odum, Gage (Kendall) Saylor, Maci Saylor, Taylor Cross, and Morgan Cross; one great-granddaughter on the way, Finley; one brother, William (Janice) Parks; two brothers-in-law, Lindell "Butch" (Pame) Grant and Galen (Polly) Grant. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Wanda Parks.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Roger Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery in Johnston City.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Manna Mission. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home on the day of the service.
