Morton Chapel - LinnCarol Jean Branson, age 67, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Carol Jean was born on December 21, 1957, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late William and Geraldine (Kiso) Branson. Her mother survives in Linn.
She was a 1976 graduate of Linn High School and a graduate of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.
Carol Jean was employed with the Missouri Department of Revenue until her retirement.
Carol Jean was a member of Oklahoma Church of Christ.
She enjoyed reading, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs and just spending time with her family and church family.
In addition to her mother, Carol Jean is survived by one brother, Vernon (Carol) Branson of Linn; three nephews, Lucas (Amy) Branson of Jefferson City, Mitch (Sophie) Branson of Linn, and Cory (Michelle) Waggoner of Grandview, Texas; five great nieces and nephews, Wendy Branson, Will Branson, Mason Branson, Lexi Jett and Wyatt Waggoner; along with many family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Oklahoma Church of Christ with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Gregor officiating. Interment will be held in Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery Fund or to the Allen Waterman Animal Assistance Fund at Osage Regional Vet Clinic in Linn.
