It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of our family's Matriarch, Carol R. (Johnson) Bryant. She passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 14, 2025 in the presence of her family. She was 87.

Carol was born on April 5, 1938 in Worcester. She was the daughter of the late Vernon Sr. and Rose (Prunier) Johnson.

Raised and educated in Shrewsbury, Carol was a graduate of the former Major Howard Beal High School Class of 1956.

She met the love of her life, George Bryant, in Junior High. They began dating in 8th grade and they married on June 7, 1958 in St. Anne's Church. Together they raised their four children in Shrewsbury.

As a young adult, Carol worked at National Press in Shrewsbury. After becoming a mother, she remained devoted to raising her young children. Once she returned to work, she chose to work 'mother's hours' at Spag's and later established her career at The Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over twenty years.

Carol's favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and referred to them as "the joys of my life." She also enjoyed spending time by the ocean and going on family vacations to Cape Cod. She was a devout member of St. Anne's Church, faithfully attending mass and reciting the rosary everyday for those in need. In addition she prayed nightly for her loved ones. She often recited her mantra, "I'm so blessed," but it is her family who considers themselves so – they will keep the warmth of Carol's love forever.

Carol's great legacy in life is the family she's built and nurtured over the years. She was the loving wife of the late George M. Bryant Sr.

Celebrating her life, legacy, and love are her children Darlene Golden and her husband Tom of Shrewsbury, Gayle Bryant of Shrewsbury, George M. Bryant Jr. and his wife Angela of Shrewsbury, Kathleen Harmon-Weaver and her husband John of Northborough; 7 grandchildren James Golden, Jill Crowton, and her husband Jonathan, Larissa Bryant, Jocelyn Harmon, Emma Kemble and her husband Matthew, Brydon Harmon and his wife Maddie, and Abby Bryant; and 6 great-grandchildren Brielle, Jonathan Jr. and Madeline Crowton, Caleb Bryant, Carolynn and Jack Harmon; sister-in-law Barbara (Bryant) Harlow, brother-in-law Frederick LeClaire, and brother-in-law Donald Maloney Sr.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends who brought joy to her life and she felt blessed for any time she could spend with them.

Carol was predeceased by her parents Vernon Sr. and Rose (Prunier) Johnson, her sister June Maloney, and her brother Vernon Johnson Jr.

Relatives and Friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours at the Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, on the Common, Shrewsbury Center, on Friday, July 18th, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, on Saturday, July 19th. at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In honor of Carol's generous heart, in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Saint Anne's Human Services Food Pantry.130 Boston Tpke, Shrewsbury, Ma 01545.
