Atwater, California - On November 7, 2022, Carol Ann Console was called to final rest while in her home in Atwater, CA. She was born to parents, Jim and Virginia Coker on October 9, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, MO (pronounced "ma- 'zur-a" and not "ma- 'zure" as the latter sounds too much like you are saying "Misery"). On August 31, 1956, Carol married the stoic Lt. Col. Russell Console and together they raised a family of eight children. Her lively disposition and southern charm rivaled that of any Austen heroine. Carol's love of literature and education gave way to her time as a librarian at Sybil Crookham school in Winton, CA. It was there that she helped lead children to stories that would have a lasting impact on their development and character. Later in life, this passion manifested in "Grandy's Book of the Month Club," where she gave a new book each month to each of her grandchildren to read and cherish forever. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Virginia Coker, husband, Russell Console, daughter, Alicia Console, grandson, Caleb Loewen, and son-in-law Dan Ivey. She is survived by her two sisters, Barbara Holloway and Virginia Alexander, her remaining seven children, Matthew (Liz), Marisa (Tony), Angela, Theresa, Cara (Gary), Christopher (Noel), and Kate, as well as eighteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and dear friends Mark and Julie Gravel. It is oft quoted that all good things must come to an end, but with God as our author it is not so. Even though the earthly chapter has closed, eternal life lies ahead with all its unread glory. Private burial will take place at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
