Carol M. Duranceau, age 83, of Owen, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at her home under the tender care of Compassus Hospice.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. The Rev. Elizabeth Bier will officiate. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome on Friday, August 4 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. A live stream will be available for those unable to attend on the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home Facebook page or after the service anytime on Facebook or the website.
Carol was born on December 23, 1939, the daughter of Harold, Sr. and Isabelle (Gavin) Fry in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. On April 28, 1958, Lloyd was united in marriage to Carol Fry in Center City, MN. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2014.
Carol worked as a CNA, a cook and drove for Mennonite and Amish till the age of 83. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, making quilts, vegetable and flower gardening, doing crafts, bingo, reading, wine making and spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her six children: Cindy (Greg) Bartnik of New London, Jeff (Bernice) Duranceau of Fond du Lac, Annette (Doug) Blunt of Colby, Brian (Paula) Duranceau of Necedah, Lynne (Joseph) Larson of Wausau and Tori Knutson of Wausau; 32 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by three siblings: Harold Fry, Jr. of Kewaskum, Richard Fry of Kewaskum and Sandra (Butch) Malzhan of Green Lake; and also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Duranceau; her son, Andy Duranceau; two granddaughters: Ariel Marie and Miranda Sue; her siblings: Milton Fry, Charles Fry, Herbert Fry, Gloria Netzband, Howard Fry, Michael Fry, Tessa Rogers, Francis Fry, Tammie Svec; her sister-in-laws, Gloria Fry and June Fry; and one brother-in-law, Fred Rogers.
