On September 5, 2025, Carol Ann (Foronda) Eaton passed quietly at the Baptist Health Care Center with her loving family by her side. Carol was born in Manhattan, NY on February 24, 1948, the daughter of the late Pedro Foronda and Gloria (Maldonado) Foronda. Carol is survived by her husband, John Eaton and son Anthony Eaton (Valerie). Brothers Peter Foronda, Robert Foronda and sister Gail (Foronda) Murphy. Carol is predeceased by her daughter Selene Eaton, brother Thomas Foronda and parents, Pedro and Gloria Foronda. Carol and her family moved from New Jersey to Alcove, NY in 1962. It must have been a real culture shock to go from an urban area to a totally country environment. She met her future husband, John, in 1964. They were married in 1966 in the Catholic Church in Ravena, NY. Their son Anthony was born later in 1966. John joined the U.S. Air Force in January 1966. He was stationed in West Germany in 1968. Carol and Anthony soon joined them in Germany. Daughter Selene was born in Bitburg, Germany in September 1969. Carol thoroughly enjoyed her time in Germany and she and John traveled extensively through Europe. She returned to Ravena in 1971 where she and the children resided until 1973 when John was separated from the Air Force. Soon that year they moved to Scotia, where they still reside. Carol was a devoted wife and mother and a good friend to those who were fortunate to know her. She charmed with a winning smile and infectious giggle. Carol had a number of jobs all concerned with data entry. She worked for several years for the Special Olympics, NY. There she did data entry and assisted with events throughout the NY state. She particularly enjoyed her interaction with the athletics. Carol was a person of many interests, including crafts, cooking and wine making. She had her private vineyard in her back yard. She was also well known in the neighborhoods below Mohawk Avenue for her homemade dog treats. She was also a very talented macrame artist. A Celebration of Carol's life will take place on Friday September 12, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a 4:00 pm service all at the Babcock Funeral Home 19 Pulver Avenue, Ravena, NY 12143. Private burial will take place in the family plot of Alcove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Carol to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
