Carol Ruth Janikowski, 91, of Merrill formally of Crandon, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born on July 16, 1933, to the late Olonzo and Ruth (Sharp) Kincaid in Crandon, WI. Carol attended and graduated from Crandon High School. She married her second husband Robert W. Janikowski, and the two enjoyed a full beautiful marriage for 52 years, until Robert passed away in 2006.
Carol was a full-time mom, homemaker and housewife for the majority of her life. She did have some odd jobs here and there, but her place was at home, taking care of her six living children and keeping up on house chores. Carol was always spending time with her children, and making sure they had what they needed. She was a dedicated mom and all the kids would gather at her home just to hang out. Carol did also enjoy crocheting and writing in her spare time, she was a member of her Methodist Church in Crandon, WI. At the nursing home, she would look forward to participating in social events and activities with other residents and staff. Carol will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Carol is survived by her children: Bobbianne (Jeffrey) Staszak of De Pere, Marcia (Gene) Oleson of Merrill, Joseph (Melissa) Janikowski of Montana and Monica (Chad) Schwerin of Montana, 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, sister: Ruby Bourdon, and numerous friends and was a bonus mom to many neighborhood kids. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Robert Sr., sons: Scott Gardner & Robert Jr. and 3 siblings.
Per Carol’s request, no services will be held at this time.
