Carol Knochenhauer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home on Oct. 1, 2025.
Carol Ann (Sedlik) Knochenhauer, 70, of Manchester, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away suddenly following a brief illness on Monday, September 29, 2025. She was born on April 12, 1955, in Hartford, one of four children to the late George and Edna (Ziemba) Sedlik.
Carol grew up in Somers and Vernon, attended local schools and was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1973. Following high school, she continued her education earning her associates degree from Manchester Community College. Carol was employed by various entities throughout her career, most notably her time at Bank of America. Later in her career, she retired from Prudential. Carol was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her flowers and vegetables. She also loved her time at the beach, soaking up the sun and relaxing with family and friends. During her alone time, she enjoyed completing puzzles and sewing, but most of all, she looked forward to spending time with her pride and joy, Macy. Although our time with Carol has come to an end, her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends for years to come.
Carol is survived by her son, Bernd Knochenhauer, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Lebanon; her granddaughter, Macy Ann Knochenhauer; her brother, Frank Sedlik and his wife Lynne of Enfield; her sister, Linda Sedlik of Manchester; as well as her nephew, Michael Sedlik of Windsor. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, George.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rt 83) in Vernon. There will be no formal service. At the request of her family, burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Protectors of Animals via www.poainc.org.

Carol, you will always be remembered as my dearest friend who showed compassion and help. I will miss most of all going on weekend trips with you to the different town shorelines in RI and MA. May you rest in peace.
