Carol Koszarek, of Antigo, died on September 12, 2025 at her home. She was 87 years old. She was born on June 3, 1938 in Antigo, a daughter of John and Helen (Swoboda) Chervenka. She married Robert Koszarek on July 28, 1962 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2010.
Carol was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1956. She tied flies from home for Sheldon's Inc. for nine years. Carol also worked at the Antigo Middle School in the kitchen as a server and dish washer.
She was a longtime member of SS Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church and enjoyed the time she spent volunteering for Meals on Wheels.
Carol cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed supporting them at their sporting events and activities, as well as playing games and puzzles with them. Carol enjoyed embroidery, and gifted her talent to family and friends. She loved her dogs, and was known to spoil them.
Survivors include two daughters, Jayne (Paul) Bula of Antigo and Terri (Mark) Tauferner of Mosinee; two sons, Craig (Anita Compton) Koszarek of Mason and Kurt (Dana) Koszarek of Green Bay; 10 grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon) Wanca of Antigo, Sara (Steve) Baur of Suamico, Leah (Eric Bohl) Tauferner of Mosinee, Samantha Tauferner of Mosinee, Quinn Koszarek, Emersyn Koszarek, and Kade Koszarek all of Green Bay, Peter (Lizzie) Compton, Daniel (Jenna) Compton, and Casey (James) Compton all of Ashland; 13 great-grandchildren, Ava, Payten, Lucas, and Brantley Wanca, Mason, Raelin, and Beau Baur, Kendra, Kori, Kristina, Ian, Emma, and Aria Compton; a sister, Peg Boehm of Virginia; a sister-in-law, Marlene Simon of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Bula; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 12 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Northstar Lanes in Antigo.
