Carol Leah Marble, 88, of Aurora, Wis., passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at UP Health System, Marquette, Mich.
She was born December 25, 1933, at her home in Aurora, Wis., to the late Earl and Leah (Church) Barnard. Carol grew up in Aurora and was a graduate of Kingsford High School, class of 1951. She moved to lower Michigan, where she lived and worked for a number of years before returning to her family in her hometown. On June 30, 1962, she was united in marriage to Leslie Marble at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2018.
Carol was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford and had worked as a press operator for Tri-City Cleaners before retiring. She enjoyed reading, feeding the crows, crossword puzzles, and playing (and winning) Yahtzee. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh with friends and family.
Survivors include four sons, Michael Marble (Gary Trobaugh), Minnesota; Steven (Linda) Marble, Georgia; Patrick (Jill) Marble, Colorado, and Christopher (Darci) Marble, Minnesota; one daughter, Elizabeth (Jason) Koller, Michigan; one brother, Duane Barnard, Michigan; two sisters, Jeanette (David) Rice, Wisconsin, and Patricia Schaut (Walter Guffey), Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Cecily) Counter, Brianne Counter (Timmy Tackett), Victoria Marble, Sarah Marble, Maria Marble, Jacob Marble, and Claire Marble; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Croyle and Shirley Adams; and by one brother, Dennis Barnard.
Carol was a loving mother and valued friend. She will be deeply missed by everyone.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. The memorial service will take place Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will take place in Aurora Homestead Cemetery, Aurora, Wis.
