Carol Mathis

Carol Mathis, age 82, of Poyen, passed away peacefully at her home on January 5, 2026. She was born December 8, 1943 to the late Roy and Estell Graves in Gurdon, AR. She was a 1961 graduate of Bismarck High School. She worked for many years at Sandy's BBQ as a cook. She loved to sew, cook, do puzzle books, but most especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Roy Jr., Ralph, and Artis Lee Graves; one sister, Earlene Moyer, husbands, Claborne Sirratt and Noah Mathis, granddaughter, Lainey Hughes; nephew, Gene Graves; great nephew, Micah Graves; and sister in love Sheila Hughes.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Wayne Sirratt (Jeanna) of Donaldson; daughters, Mary Sirratt (Billy Wilson) of Magnet Cove and Amanda Hughes (Eric) of Poyen, grandkids, Veronica Hargrave (Matt), Dakota Sirratt (Hannah), Linsey Givens (Chase), and Miranda Hughes; great-grandkids, Ava Hargrave, Alex, Hailey, and Rylee Sirratt, sister in law, Allie Mae Graves; brother in love "Grandpa" Jimmy Hughes; special friend Lisbet Crespo; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

Special thanks to Arkansas Hospice for helping her at the end of her journey and to our Poyen Fire Department Family for all their support and love.

Family will gather at 591 Hwy 229 N. Poyen, AR

Private family service will be held at a later date.
