Carol Lee Samide

Carol Lee Samide (nee Jones) passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Lakewood, CO after a brief illness at the age of 79..
Carol is survived by her son, Alex, daughter-in-law Paula and two grandsons, Ian and Conner of Thornton, CO; daughter JaVona, son-in-law Ed, and grandsons Derek, Jacob and Micah of Grand Junction, CO and her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Veleta Jones of Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, and her parents.
Carol was born on July 4, 1944 in Denver, Colorado to Thomas and Evelyn Jones. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Education. She married Richard Samide in 1968 and after moving around with Richard for a few years, settled back in Denver, CO. Carol began working for Albertsons Grocery Store as a cashier and remained there for 40+ years.
She is remembered as kind, honest, had a passion for reading and always valued education. She always encouraged her family and friends to pursue their goals. She never minced words and always spoke her mind.
Carol was an individual who loved animals and often showed chickens and her Old English Mastiffs in shows around the country. She was active in several clubs including Mastiff Club of America, Rocky Mountain Mastiff Fanciers, and Plum Creek Kennel Club.
A celebration of life will be scheduled after the holidays according to her wishes.
