Carol Marie Toler

Carol Marie Toler-Born July 23, 1938, went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2025, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia. 

She was born in Clear Fork, West Virgina raised in Oceana with the rest of her family. She graduated from Oceana High School in 1958. She was a great woman of faith who loved the Lord Jesus with all her might and the church that she served in prayers and deeds. She was a great wife and mother who devoted her life to God and family. She served the church by helping teach Sunday schools classes and served as youth counselor while her children grew up in church. She later worked at Georges Fashions in the Raleigh Mall where she served as Manager of the store for several years in the 70’s and 80’s. However, she never stopped her work in the church. As a member of the Women of the Church of God she continued to serve raising money for missions and church projects throughout the years. She was deeply committed to making sure the mission of the Kingdom continued. Helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars through the years the church continued to grow and reach people for the Kingdom because of her efforts and commitment to Jesus. As stated, she was a woman who lived her family and friends.

 Marie preceded in death by her father Ralph Cook and Lenna Morgan Cook of Fairdale, WV two sisters Bonnie Cook and Gay Cook of Clear Fork, WV. 

 She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years Ulvert Jackson (U.J.) Toler of Fairdale, WV. Also survived by two sons Kenneth (Ken) Toler, wife Debi of Huntington, WV, and Gregory (Greg) Lee Toler and wife Susan of Christiansburg, VA. Several Sisters and brothers Lou Cook Hall of Beckley, WV, Vondie Cook Sr and wife Janet of Crab Orchard, WV, Lola Cook Lamb and husband Jim Lamb of Columbia, SC, Ray Cook and wife Mildred of Oceana, WV, Kay Cook Toler of Kopperston, WV, Debbie Cook of Beckley, WV, and Janie Cook Davis and husband Justin of Beckley, WV. She also has eight grandchildren she adored Megan Toler Martin husband Chance Martin of San Antonio, TX, Jeremy Toler of New Castle, VA, Ashley Toler Harper and husband Matt of Winfield, WV, Kelsi Toler Smith and husband Thomas of Huntington, WV, Caleb Toler of Christiansburg, VA, Drs. Brennan Toler and Wife Miranda of South Point, OH, Miranda Toler Taylor and husband Brandon of Christiansburg, VA, and Emily Toler of Christiansburg, VA. She also has eleven great grandchildren: (Gaige, Brylan, Piper) (Landrey, Everleigh, Greenlee) (Jackson) (Brysen, Brooks, Brantley) (Kehlani) and (Logan- baby Toler on the way). Pallbears for funeral will be Jeremy Toler, Brennan Toler, Caleb Toler, Gaige Martin, Jackson Frazier, Thomas Smith Honorary Pallbears Chance Martin, Matt Harper, Brandon Taylor, and Jamie Taylor. In lieu of flowers if you would like to donate in her memory to Cross Point Church of God or Bowers Hospice House Beckley, WV.

Services will be 1;00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Cross Point Church, 110 Crescent Rd., Beckley, WV with Pastor Vondie, II officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m until service time Wednesday at the church.
