Carol Lea Wakeley passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at her home in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 74.
Carol was born May 25, 1951, in Talihina, Oklahoma, to Ardal Hayes and Frances (Hampton) Hayes. She attended Holdenville High School and was a long-time resident of Shawnee. Carol had a kind heart, a strong spirit and a deep love for her family.
She enjoyed cheering on her OU Sooners, watching golf, and garage sale hunting for secret treasures. Carol cherished quiet moments sharing stories with loved ones and adored the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren, watching them grow. She found joy in the simple things and treasured the time she spent with her family.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ardal and Frances Hayes; her siblings Jerry Hayes, Lynna Rives, Sue Buck, her beloved twin sister, Caren Marie Bennett; and her cherished dog, Presley.
She is survived by her two sons: Jimmy Wakeley and wife Lacey of Holdenville, and Jerry Wakeley and wife Lauren of Choctaw. She is also survived by three cherished grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jack, and Jordan. In addition, Carol leaves behind her sister Judy Wallace of Skiatook, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Pallbearers are Eric Elliott, Robert Bennett, Aubie Keesee, Carson Elliott, Easton Elliott and Chase Elliott.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Holdenville Cemetery Chapel.
Services will be under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
