Carolyn Rose Walkup passed away Wednesday, October 8th, 2025 at her home in Lamar as the age of 84.
Carolyn was born September 2nd, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Albert Fowler and Daisy (Holcomb) Fowler. Carolyn was a machinist at Tinker Air Force Base and retired from there after working for 23 years. She married Stanley Walkup on August 24, 1984 in Gainsville, Texas. They just celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary in August. Carolyn was a member of the Carson Baptist Church in Lamar and was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed hunting, collecting, garage sales, puzzles and helping with Vacation Bible School. Carolyn loved taking care of her husband, Stanley, and spending time with family and friends.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Daisy Fowler, brothers; James Fowler, Frank Fowler and son Michael Keith. She is survived by her husband Stanley of the home, children; Deborah Harrison of Shawnee, Michele Jerles and husband Jay of Yukon, John Mowery and wife Christy of Lamar, Angie Walkup of Harrah, Lloyd Walkup of Oklahoma City, Jamie Walkup of Shawnee, Amy Walkup of Oklahoma City, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Carolyn is survived by numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are John Mowery, Jalen Vorise, Keith Single, Noah Titony, Tim Rosetano, Jay Jerles and Nicholas Martinez.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Carson Baptist Church in Lamar with Pastor Dewayne Davis officiating.
Interment will follow at Lamar Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.
