Carole L. (Myers) Smith, 88, of Alexandria, PA passed away on January 2, 2026. She was born on April 2, 1937, in Tyrone, PA, to the late Donald W. and Beulah M. Myers. She married Chester H. Smith on March 9, 1957, who predeceased her in 1998. Her long time companion, Bernard Kyper, also predeceased her in 2015. Mrs. Smith is survived by five children, Teresa Smith (Uldis Kaktins and Robert Scott, both deceased) of Petersburg, PA, Jeanne Peterson (Rod) of Alexandria, PA, Perry Smith (Beth) also of Alexandria, PA, Sidney Smith (Shari) of Melbourne, FL, and Ned Smith (Kathleen) of York, PA. One brother, Donald W. Myers (Barbara) of Plano, TX, survives. She was predeceased by her sisters: Mary Markley, Donna Miller, Patricia Saint Amour and Nancy, who died in infancy.

Carole is survived by ten grandchildren: Mara Kaktins (Joseph Blondino), Kaija Bretzius (Bryan), Drew Peterson, Jake Peterson (Mackenzie), Jerrod Smith (Ellice), Janelle Cohn (Stephen), Stacey Berry, David Hetrick, Alan Smith and Kayla Smith. She was also blessed to know nine great-grandchildren: Uldi Blondino-Kaktins; Barrett, Levi, Joshua and Sarah Bretzius, Colton and Finnley Smith and Camille and Louie Cohn.

Mrs. Smith was a 1955 graduate of Bellwood Antis High School where she and her sisters were accomplished musicians. In 1957, she graduated from Altoona School of Commerce and Zeth Schools, Inc. She was employed by General Finance and H. T. Reynolds and Sons of Huntingdon and the Pennsylvania State University until the family went into dairy farming in Alexandria in 1970. Carole served as secretary of DHIA, as well as other farm organizations. She was also well known for raising Blue Point Siamese cats and miniature Schnauzers.
Later in life, Carole enjoyed winters in Florida, attending the Juniata Valley Senior Center, and working at the ticket booth at the Huntingdon County Fair. She and Bernie were active at the American Legion in Alexandria and hosted many friends and family at "Bernie's Bar".
At Mrs. Smith's request, there will be no viewing or public funeral service. Interment will be at the family's convenience.
