Carolina Whitaker Mullins

Carolina Whitaker Mullins, formerly of Payne Gap, Kentucky, being blessed with Ninety-eight years young, entered her Heavenly home on Friday, October 7, 2022, at her residence in Shelbyville, Kentucky with family by her side.
She was born unto the union of her late parents, John C. and Vina Rose Whitaker in Payne Gap, Kentucky. She was a member of the Payne Gap Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Circle. Carolina enjoyed quilting, cooking, word puzzles, taking daily walking trips to local stores, until her health declined. She loved spending time with her family. Carolina was a lady full of life's wisdom. Her love for God and reading the Bible reassured what a strong faith-based foundation her life was built on. She had the spirit of a young teenager and enjoyed life to the fullest. She knew how to make the worst day ever, one of the brightest, with a few simple words of encouragement. She had the most unique laugh, brightest smile, and warmest personality. Her words were like a warm hug on a cold day, they filled your heart with goodness and love. Our family has lost another anchor to the Sea of Life, but we thank God for being Blessed with having her as long as we did. I know a family reunion is taking place in Heaven today and for that we give God the Glory.
Carolina is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Clinton Mullins, son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Edward and Virginia Mullins, grandchildren, Charles Wendall, Danny Lee, Jr., Gregory Dean, Jr., Tina K., Timothy, Ann Marie, Jennifer Nicole, sisters, Velma Johnson, Mae Reed, Wanda Jean Wright, brothers, Jack, Estes, Columbus, Clarence, Pat, Billy Mack, Arcie and Marcus Whitaker.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Terry (Carolyn) Mullins of Kernersville, NC, Donald (Irene) Mullins of Glen Rock, PA, Danny (Kimberly) Mullins of Ewing, KY, Gregory (Sun) Mullins of Radcliff, KY, Rodney (Lisa) Mullins, James "Ricky" (Lisa) Mullins, Ronald (Netty) Mullins all of Shelbyville, KY, Jimmy Mullins of Conowingo, MD, brother, Russell Whitaker of Payne Gap, KY, twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Payne Gap Freewill Baptist Church in Jenkins, KY.
Funeral services will be conducted at the church on Friday, October 13, 2022, at 10 a.m. with Brother Anthony Mullins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Laurel Fork Cemetery, 576 Overlook Terrace, Jenkins, KY 41537.
