She was born on January 4, 1952, in Earlington, KY, to the late Mildred Louise Gant Law and Emmett Garvin Law, Sr. She was formerly employed by York, AutoLiv, and retired from Land O'Frost. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren. Carolyn was lovingly called "Sis" by her brothers and sisters and "Granny" by her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Cloern; brothers, Odie Wayne Hodges and Emmett Law, Jr.; sister, Shirley Bratcher; and infant sister, Patricia Ann Law.
Her survivors include her daughter, Tonya (Kris) Rickard of Madisonville; brothers, Danny Law of Madisonville, Jerry (Melanie) Law of Hanson, KY, Kevin (Theresa) Law of Madisonville, and David Law of Earlington; sister-in-law, Phyllis Hodges of Madisonville; grandchildren, Jacob Rickard of Bowling Green, KY and Kaitlyn Rickard of White Plains, KY; great-granddaughter, Avery Barnhill; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Burton officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kris Rickard, Jacob Rickard, Jerry Law, Evan Law, David Law, and Michael Bratcher. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Law and Danny Law.
