Heaven gained another soul. Carolyn "Annie" Hagen, 88 of Brussels, IL passed away on Friday July 25th, 2025. We are sure that Annie was greeted not only by our Lord and Savior Jesus, but with big hugs by her beloved husband, Kenny, granddaughter, Jessica, grandson, Jacob, and many other loved ones who had gone before her.
Annie was born on February 2, 1937, in Kampsville, IL to parents Victor E. & Edna (Roberts) Waldheuser.
Annie grew up in Kampsville, IL. After her graduation from Hardin High, she worked for a time at Owens Glass Company before marrying her husband Kenneth Hagen on June 13, 1959, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kampsville, IL. Together they raised their 5 children on the family farm and eventually took on running the family business, Hagen Family Orchard, for 50+ years. Over the years Annie met numerous wonderful life-long peach & apple customers. She was beloved by all employees over the years, including many of whom were local teenagers and fondly referred to her as "Grandma Annie." Up until this past year, she still enjoyed stopping by the orchard to sit in the rocking chair and visit with customers.
Annie found joy in having her children and grandchildren come home for barbeques, birthday celebrations and holidays. Usually any get together included a few rounds of dominos, dice, or cards along with lots of joking & laughter.
Annie's grandmother Carrie Waldheuser was instrumental in Annie being dedicated to her faith at St. John's Lutheran church in Kampsville, IL and after marriage at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Brussels, IL.
Although Annie's physical presences may no longer be with us, may her memory be a blessing and we carry forth her legacy of faith and love.
Annie is survived by daughters Debbie (Jeff) Kamp of Golden Eagle, IL & Melinda (Vince) Smith of Godfrey, IL; Sons Keith (Rita) Hagen of Brussels, IL, Kevin Hagen of Godfrey, IL, and Kyle (Kris) Hagen of Godfrey, IL; A special niece who was like a daughter, Lisa Williams; Grandchildren Blake Kamp, Lynne (Mike) Adams, Luke (Abbey) Smith, Kaye (Michael) Gilbreth, Brooke Smith, Shannon (Jason) Jackson, and Sydney (Sam) Ficker; Great grandkids Piper & Graham Adams, Charlotte, Jacob & Wrenley Gilbreth, Grant, Nolan, & Harrison Smith and another great grandson to be born in December; Sister in-law Gerry Cappel, and many wonderful nieces & nephews. In addition to her family, Annie leaves behind countless neighbors and friends who will miss her dearly.
