Carolyn Mosteller Hilderbrand

Carolyn Darlene Mosteller Hilderbrand, 70, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024 at her residence with her loving family by her side. 

 She was born in Gaston County on December 12, 1954 to the late Sylvester Mosteller and Gladys Morgan Mosteller. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Tommy Mosteller, sisters, Nancy Blalock and Linda Wallace. 

 Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Diane, the two of them keep the roads hot. They knew everything that happen in the neighborhood; they were better than the neighborhood watch. She loved her family and everyone she met. Carolyn was a kind woman that never turned anyone away and always showed love to those around her. She retired from A & E after 38 wonderful years. She also worked at Dixie Yarns and Burlington for many years. 

 She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Carl Manning Hilderbrand; and her children, Tracy Carter, Ashley Hilderbrand and Wayne Hilderbrand; 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Mosteller, sisters, Betty Huffstetler, Barbara Dellinger and Kathy Schronce, best friend, Diane and many other wonderful family and friends.

 Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Schronce and Pastor Jacob Schronce officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Hope. Pallbearers will be Jimmy White, Michael Schronce, Justin Meeks, Cody Meeks, Dylan Stiles, and Jaiden Barrett.
