Carolyn Jean Holycross

Carolyn Jean (Arthur) Holycross, age 103, of Sunbury, Ohio passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at Westerwood Nursing Facility in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Lakeview, Ohio on May 28, 1922, to the late Andrew Clay Arthur, Sr. and Alta Loreta (Houchins) Arthur.
Jean was a graduate of Lakeview High School. She married Jack Holycross and they made their home in Kenton, Ohio where Jean lived most of her life. She loved living in that community.
Jean was a loyal, outgoing woman. She loved to talk and sincerely enjoyed the shock value of what she would say! Jean started this way of communicating in her younger years and had perfected it by the time of her passing.
Jean especially loved her family and friends. She treasured the time spent in their company. Jean was a special lady who will be forever remembered, loved and missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jeryl (Rex, Sr.) King and Jill (Larry) Burchfield; seven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; granddaughter, Kinze King Cox; brother, Andrew Clay Arthur, Jr. and sister-in-law, June Arthur.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
