It is with great sadness that the Hoth family announces the death of our beloved Carolyn Dorothy Hoth of Glenview. Carolyn passed away of natural causes at age 70. She was born to George and Agnes Hoth on August 19, 1954. She is survived by her brother George, his wife Linda, and her beloved niece and nephews: Raymond (Merwena), Jennifer (Joe), Steven, and Kevin (Katie), as well as twelve cherished great-nieces and great-nephews. Carolyn grew up on Rosedale Road in the small town of Glenview. She graduated from Glenbrook South High School in 1972 and went on to study Accounting at Oakton Community College after working for a brief spell. Her beloved father passed away in 1984, and she ultimately lived with and cared for her mother, Agnes, in Glenview until her passing in 2004. Carolyn would continue to live in Glenview until her final day with us. Our Auntie worked tirelessly since the age of 18, where her intelligence and work ethic shined bright. She was ultimately employed by, and retired from, the College of American Pathologists after 22 years. Auntie loved working for the CAP until the final days when she said farewell to fellow coworkers who loved her so. Carolyn's life was dedicated to her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest and loved those whose struggles made them live life to the fullest. Izzy, Olivia, and Emma all gave her such joy, knowing their love of life was pure. She loved her cat companions, who all lived long, loving lives with her and through her. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 3535 Thornwood Ave., Glenview, Illinois. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 am. We would appreciate, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in her honor to the following charities of the loves in her life:
Joubert Syndrome Foundation - https://jsrdf.org/;
Ronald McDonald House Charities- https://rmhccni.org/
Heartland Animal Shelter- https://heartlandanimalshelter.org/
