Carolyn F. Lowery, 83, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 11:24 am September 3, 2025 at Silver Foxes Senior Living and Rehabilitation in McLeansboro, Illinois. She was born December 20, 1941 in Dix, Illinois to the late Elliott "Bus" Eiler and Mildred (Ward). Carolyn married Dale Lowery on July 16, 1960 and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Carolyn is survived by her sons, Kevin Lowery and wife, Lisa of Bluford, Illinois, Larry Lowery and wife, Julie of Bradenton, Florida; four grandchildren, Eric Lowery and wife, Megan of Johnstown, Colorado, Danara Gant and husband, Derek of Johnstown, Colorado, Jenna Guardian and husband, Stephen of Bradenton, Florida and Kyle Lowery of Bradenton, Florida; six great grandchildren, Hadlee Lowery, Audra Lowery, Taryn Lowery, Rafe Gant, Riven Gant and Stella Guardian; sisters, Dorothy Scott of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Janet Ritchey of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Rainey.
Carolyn had worked at First National Bank in Mt. Vernon, Tri-County Electric Co-op and later at Stan The Tire Man. Carolyn attended Second Baptist Church in Bluford, and Lighthouse Baptist Church. She enjoyed deer hunting and helping out on the farm. Carolyn was out-going and was always willing to help anyone and she also enjoyed traveling with her family.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:30 pm with Rev. Les Sinks officiating. Interment will follow at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Carolyn's honor to Thomason Cemetery.
