Mary Margaret Lowery passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 28, 1947, in Vinton County, Ohio, Mary Margaret lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to the well-being of others.
Her life was a beautiful reflection of love in action. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Margaret's legacy lives on through her daughter, Susan (Roy) Salazar; her son, Gary (Joyce) Lowery; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one cherished great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Jane Sherrick, Joe Richards, Wayne (Birdie) Richards, Robert (Maria) Richards, Jimmy Richards, and many other brothers and sisters whose lives were deeply touched by her presence.
Mary Margaret dedicated her career to home health care, where her gentle spirit and nurturing nature brought comfort to countless individuals and families. More than a caregiver, she was a source of companionship and hope, offering not just medical support, but dignity and human connection to those in their most vulnerable moments.
Those who knew Mary Margaret will remember her for her open heart, her quiet strength, and her unwavering generosity. Whether through a warm smile, a kind word, or a helping hand, she had a rare gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved. Her life was a testament to the power of compassion—and the difference one person can make by simply showing up with love.
Family and friends may visit with the family from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier, IN 46767. Cremation rites to follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Laurelville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway W., Ligonier, IN 46767, to help the family with expenses.
