Carolyn Patterson, 92, passed away peacefully in Virginia Beach on November 8, 2025. She was born on December 20, 1932, to David and Elaine Doscher, and lived a full, vibrant life defined by strength, independence, and a love of adventure.

A proud graduate of Anacostia High School in Washington, D.C., Carolyn went on to live in both Ocean City, Maryland, and Steinhatchee, Florida, where she enjoyed the beauty of coastal living. An avid traveler, she explored destinations around the world including India, the Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands.

Carolyn had a true zest for life-she loved participating in 5K runs, spending peaceful days fishing for redfish and trout, and sharing her passion for cooking with family and friends. Her strong spirit, warm heart, and unwavering faith as a Methodist guided her throughout her life.

Carolyn was preceded in rest by her husband, Brent Patterson, and her parents, David C. and Elaine Doscher. She was married to Billy R. Patterson for 20 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Glenn W. Patterson; four grandchildren, Wade Patterson (Lauren), Scott Patterson, Reid Patterson, and Jessica Lyn Patterson; three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Bodi, and Braelyn; and her daughter-in-law, Connie Patterson.

She will be remembered for her determination, adventurous nature, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Carolyn's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
