Carolyn M. Pitcavage, 81, of Edwardsville, passed away on Monday, September 29th, 2025.
She was born on July 2nd, 1944, in Plains Township, to the late Michael and Caroline Prebola. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains Township and attended Empire Beauty School where she obtained her cosmetology license.
Carolyn dedicated over 40 years of her career to RCA (Fairchild Semi-Conductor). Following retirement, she worked at Rite Aid as a part time clerk. She enjoyed her years traveling across the country with Marvin. When she wasn't visiting new places, she enjoyed the excitement of the casino and playing Mahjong on the computer. Most importantly, Carolyn cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, attending many sporting events throughout the years and encouraging them through life's milestones. She smiled the brightest when speaking about each and every grandchild and great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Delores Homza and brother, Thomas Prebola.
She is survived by longtime partner, Marvin Eroh; her children, son, Richard (Debra) Pitcavage; daughter, Tamara (James) Smicherko; daughter, Carolyn (John) Gruver, with whom she resided; daughter, Donna Giza; and son Joseph Pitcavage. Grandchildren, Richard (Kate) Pitcavage; Rhonda Pitcavage; James (Linda) Smicherko; Kaitlyn (Chris) Takacs; Casondra (Casey) Ritsick; Gabriela Smicherko; John, Natalie, and Lindsey Gruver; Gavyn, Garrett, Grace, Matthew, Trent, Nicholas, and Gunner Giza; and Megan and Melanie Pitcavage. Great grandchildren, Hunter, Karee, and Reid Pitcavage; Adelyn and Elena Smicherko; Daisy Takacs; Jace Giza; Romeo Ferrara, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 8th,with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 339 N. Maple Ave Kingston.
