Carolyn Lee Evans Stone, 81, widow of Jerry Stone, passed away peacefully at her home in Johnsonville on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

A lifelong resident of South Carolina, Carolyn graduated from Pamplico High School and went on to work in the mail room for AIG Insurance in Florence. Her dedication and work ethic were evident throughout her career. Her quiet diligence and a strong sense of responsibility were evident in the way that she completed her work.

Carolyn found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved to read and was not often seen without a book in hand. Shopping trips brought her delight. In addition, she cherished time spent fishing-an activity that allowed her to enjoy the outdoors and moments of peaceful reflection. Above all else, Carolyn treasured time with her family.

Carolyn is survived by a son, Allen (Stephanie) Stone; grandchildren: Betsy (Justin) Hudson, Brianna (Winston) Stone, Danielle (Lance) Collins, Desirea Byrd, and JJ (Jenine) Stone; great-grandchildren: McKayla, Olive, Alexander, Savannah, Evelyn, and Theo; and a brother, Freeman Evans.

In addition to her husband and parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a son, John Paul Stone and siblings: Buster Evans, Nora Collins, Brunson Evans, Faye Baxley, CD Evans, and Eugene Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Unity Free Will Baptist Church, 1802 S Lake City Highway, Johnsonville, South Carolina, 29555. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will follow in the New Prospect Church Cemetery, 4221 Sheminally Road, Pamplico, South Carolina, 29583.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 in the sanctuary of Unity Free Will Baptist Church, 1802 S Lake City Highway, Johnsonville, South Carolina, 29555.

Carolyn's family would like to extend heart-felt gratitude to Mrs. Catherine Lee, special care-giver, for the wonderful attention, love, and support she provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carolyn's memory to Unity Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 814, Johnsonville, South Carolina, 29555.
