Carolynn Tumbasolan, 73 of Cliffwood, New Jersey passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Preferred Care in Old Bridge.
Born Sunday, June 15, 1952 in Bronx, New York, Carolynn was the daughter of the late Edgar and Suzanne Fries.
Carolynn would spend her first 8 years living on Gun Hill Road in the Bronx, before her family moved to Old Bridge. She was a graduate of Madison Township High School. After High School Carolynn attended and graduated from Douglas College in New Brunswick with a degree in education. She worked for many years as an Elementary School Art Teacher. Carolynn spent most of her career working in the Jersey City school system, retiring in 2020.
Carolynn was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Atlas Chapter #99. She enjoyed spending her time shopping, Boscov's being one of her favorite stores. Carolynn also had a big heart for animals, especially for her cats. She was a loving sister and friend and will be missed by all those that love her.
Carolynn is survived by her loving sister, Susan Fries, and by many cousins and close friends, especially, Diana Afsa, Emil Afsa, Robert Afsa, and Emily Pydeski.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in memory or Carolynn to either the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
