A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 11 AM at Covenant Church, 4000 Corey Road, Winterville, NC 28590.
Carrie was born on November 23, 1982 in Roanoke Rapids where she spent most of her childhood. She attended Roanoke Rapids High School, where she participated in several activities including swim team and marching band. She relocated to Winterville, NC where she made her home. She joined Covenant Church in Winterville where she met the love of her life, Shaun and pursued a career as an RN. The greatest gift of her life were her love for the Lord, her two boys and her family.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Leon C. (Pete) Cameron, Jr. and Fred W. Ash, Sr..
Carrie is survived by her husband Shaun Fitzpatrick, sons Paul Everette and Peter Elijah Fitzpatrick of the home. Parents Fred W. Ash, Jr. and Kathy C. Ash of Winterville, NC; Brothers William (Cam) Ash and wife Dana of Wilson, NC, Kyle Ash and wife Sophia of Mooresville, NC; nieces Katie Ash, Stella Ash and Gracie Ash; nephew Micah Ash, Evan Bonet; maternal grandmother Jo Ann Cameron of Chocowinity, NC; paternal grandparents Rebecca and Joseph Holloman of Rocky Mount, NC; paternal step-grandmother Loretta Ash of Roanoke Rapids; Aunts Angie Ash, Allyson Clontz, Audrey Ash; uncles Dwayne Cameron, Wayne Cameron, Alan Ash, Josh Ash. Aunt and uncle by choice Patti and Chuck Parrott of Wilmington, NC. Mother -in-law Zoraida Medina of Florida; Brother-in-law Kenny Bonet In addition to her birth family, Carrie had several siblings by Choice, Christina (Chrissy) Page Reaves, Erin Herritt, Kristen Puryear-Price, Hayley Milburn Bradbury, Kelly Ivey Palacio, Ashley Livesay, Lindsey Leake McElheney, Stephanie Swails Casper, and a brother by choice Daniel Barbee.
The family would like to thank the medical teams at UNC hospital Chapel Hill, ECU Health and The Service League of Greenville Hospice House for the love and care given to Carrie and to her family.
In Lieu of flowers memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Hospital for Children in her memory.

I'm so sorry to hear about Carrie's passing. It's been at least 30 years since we last saw each other, but when my family moved to Roanoke Rapids in the early 1990s, Carrie was a friend. We were in elementary school together and took dance at Myrick School of Dance. We reconnected years ago on social media and were able to catch up on our lives. She was a sweet soul. My prayers of peace and comfort for her entire family.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Carrie. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing.
Although I did not have the opportunity to meet Carrie personally, I hold her parents and brothers in the highest regard. My thoughts and prayers are with the Ash family and all who were near and dear to her during this difficult time.
May she rest in peace.
