It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mom, Carrie Ann Ratchford at the young age of 57, Mom peacefully took her last breath on Earth and her first breath in Heaven on September 15, 2025 at 1 pm surrounded by family. The world lost a remarkable woman and Heaven gained a soul full of strength and unwavering faith.
Born on November 27, 1967, Mom lived life with her whole heart—adventurous and fearless. Whether she was casting a line at the lake, heading into the woods, or just sitting in the sun enjoying the fresh air, she felt closest to God in the great outdoors. She loved fishing, hunting, and anything that brought her closer to nature and to the Creator she believed so in so deeply. Throughout mom’s short life, she endured countless hardshipsand tribulations; however despite the struggles she battled, when God knocked, she answered.
Revelation 3:21: “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, am set down with my Father in His throne.”Her unwavering faith flourished in her final years on Earth and proved to be contagious to those around her.
She is survived by her children, Christopher Harper; Jacqueline Seagle; Brettany Glover (who she apparently didn’t even like very much); and Jody Gold. Each child a reflection of her in some way whether it be hereditary anxiety or natural stubbornness. She also leaves behind a ton of grandchildren as well as a great grandson.
Mom rebuilt the foundation of her life and gave her heart to Jesus. She became an astonishing example of what it meant to be a child of God. Her love for Christ became invigorating and infectious. Mom is now at the feet of Jesus and has the gift of eternal life.
As we remember her, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace and is enjoying her new life in Heaven with those who passed before her, despite our dad’s wishes to be free from her. We also fully believe our dad ran to the opposite side of Heaven to chat with the good Lord. May they get along for Jesus’ sake.
A celebration of Life and natural burial will be held on September 17 at 5:30pm in her backyard, surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors she loved so much. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor her memory.
