It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Casey Dawn Hughes-Devey, who left this world on October 24, 2025, in American Fork, Utah.
Casey was born on March 10, 1983, to Monte Hughes and Carolyn Rockwell. She was the youngest of seven children and grew up in Springville, Utah.
Casey’s life was defined by creativity, compassion, and humor. She had a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor that could light up any room and bring laughter even in the hardest of times. A talented artist and deeply creative soul, Casey found beauty in the ordinary and meaning in moments others might overlook. Her art and imagination were extensions of her heart — thoughtful, layered, and full of love.
She was a deep thinker and an empathetic listener. Her light left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Her laughter, warmth, and ability to find joy in small things will be missed beyond measure.
Among all of Casey’s passions, her greatest joys were found in her husband, Brandon Devey; her daughter, Ashlee Sue; and her beloved dog, Berkley. Her love for them was boundless and often expressed through her writing.
Casey’s legacy will live on through the lives she touched, the beauty she created, and the love she gave so freely. She will be remembered for her humor, her heart, and her unwavering compassion for others.
Casey is survived by her husband, Brandon; daughter, Ashlee; beloved dog, Berkley; sisters, Brenda (Bryan) Roberts, Shelly Myers, Jessica (Jody) Olsen, and Jackie (Cory) Stokes; brother, Travis Stubbs; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Monte Hughes and Carolyn Rockwell, as well as her brother, Patrick Stubbs.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.”
