Cassandra Bernadette Purcell, affectionately known as “Cassie” was born on Feb. 14, 1961 in Brookhaven, MS, the second child born to Thaddeus and Ethel O’Neal. As a child, Cassie was known to be strong-willed and creative. She actually taught herself to read at the age of three. As she grew up it became apparent she was destined to be a high achiever, having to be the best at whatever she was involved in. She also was an early entrepreneur, selling bracelets and rings and even opening Cassie’s Variety Store with her mom when she was 19. Cassie would go on to have a long career in medical billing at Blue Cross, Blue Shield, reaching the level of Acting Vice President. After BC/BS she started her own medical billing company Casco Billing Services. In her personal life, Cassie would bring into the world three children, Tiffani, Jack and Isaiah. She is preceded in death by her brother, Frenard and her granddaughter, Airymei. She is survived by her mother Ethel O’Neal, father Thaddeus O”Neal, sister Pamela Jarrett (Dennis), daughter Tiffani, sons Jack (Chloe) and Isaiah, ten grandchildren, three nephews, four nieces, several aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
