With grace, strength, and a heart that poured love into others, Cassandra Frederica “Cassie” Womick, age 63, of Columbus, Ohio, transitioned from this life on February 18, 2026. Born August 11, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio, Cassie lived with a steady faith that guided her steps and a joy that brightened the lives of everyone around her.
Cassie graduated from South High School in 1980 and went on to build a life rooted in service, responsibility, and care for others. She worked as an Operations Supervisor at the Greater Columbus Convention Center for 18 years (1994–2012), where she was known for her leadership, dependability, and the way she treated people—with respect, patience, and kindness. Cassie was a compassionate Servant-Leader. In August 2012, Cassie began a new chapter as an Environmental Services Manager at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a role she carried with pride and dedication until the onset of her illness in March 2024. In every season, Cassie showed what it looks like to serve with excellence—quietly, faithfully, and with love.
Cassie was fun-loving, full of laughter, and a truly faithful and excellent friend. She had a way of making people feel safe, welcomed, and cared for—like family. Her love was practical, generous, and real; she was the kind of person who would give her last dollar to help someone in need, and she did it without needing recognition. Many knew her as the “quintessential mother to all,” and to her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Mee-Maw.” Cassie cherished the everyday moments that mattered most: playing Spades with friends, relaxing with Lifetime movies and shows (especially with her daughter), and spending precious quality time with her grandchildren. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit was uplifting, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who loved her.
Cassie is survived by her two cherished adult children, Stephanie M. Womick and Sherrick D. Womick; her beloved sisters, Patrice M. Cunningham and Charlene M. Williams; her devoted brothers, Charles R. Womick, Jr. and Darrell E. Womick; Five dearly loved and adored grandchildren, Sa’Vonte, I’netta, Stephon, Sy’Aire & Serinity Womick; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends, including Keisha Jenkins, Linda White, Shinelle Rueben, Kat Davis and Donell Godsey. She was preceded in death by her beloved firstborn son, Stephon D. Womick; her mother, Donna M. Womick (m. Williams); and her father, Charles R. Womick, Sr.
Though her earthly presence is gone, Cassie’s love, laughter and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her!
