Catherine Marie Jarrett

Catherine Marie (Cox) Jarrett, 90, of Wooster, OH, passed peacefully to her Heavenly home on Thursday, February 22, 2024, with family members at her side.
Catherine, "Cathy" to her friends, was born October 1, 1933, on the family farm near Zionsville, IN. She spent her early years working on the farm with her parents, Stacey E. and Pearl M. (nee Shoemaker) Cox, alongside her two sisters, Doris (Cox) Wilson and Helen (Cox) Fix. She graduated from Zionsville High School.
In 1957, Catherine was married to Carl D. Jarrett (deceased) and together, they had five children: Karen of Berthoud, CO, David (Terri) of Wooster, OH, Randy (Chris) of Alexandria, VA, Mike (Diane) of Orrville, OH, and Suzy of Chantilly, VA. Catherine also had eight grandchildren, Sarah (Logan), Andrew, Lexi (Aaron), Megan, Madeline (Abram), Aidan, Seth, and Avery and two great grandchildren, Emily and Tate. Catherine is also survived by her sister, Doris (Benny) Wilson of Zionsville.
After relocating with her family from Michigan to Wooster, she worked for many years at Retzler's True Value Hardware.
Catherine's family and friends will remember her as a survivor who was feisty, independent and hardworking, all characteristics that she passed along to her children. She was also a lively storyteller with a quick wit and very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching, talking, and texting with her family about sporting events, NASCAR races, and hearing about all the things her children and grandchildren were doing. She faithfully attended Grace Brethren Church in Wooster.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 25th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Drive, Rittman, OH.
Catherine will be buried next to her mother, father and sister, Helen, at the Mounts Runn Baptist Cemetery in Whitestown, Boone County, IN. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 am.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Apostolic Christian Village for the loving care provided to Cathy in her last year. Memorials in Catherine's name may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home, 10680 Steiner Road, Rittman, OH 44270.
