Josephine Lambert

Josephine Lambert , age 90, of Rittman, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, September 14, 2025, at her home.

Josephine was born on March 2, 1935, (one of 12 children) in McDowell, Kentucky, to the late Miles and Alvannie (Williams) Moore and lived most of her life in Rittman.

She graduated from McDowell High School in Kentucky with the class of 1956. Following graduation she moved to Rittman in 1958 and married her loving husband, Clifford Lambert on September 22, 1958. He preceded her in death in 2017.

She was employed by Sparks Grocery and Sparky's Pizza in Rittman and Autumnwood Nursing Home prior to retiring.

Josephine enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, cooking and canning. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are daughter, Lois (Barry) Zimmerman; sons, Paul (Brenda) Lambert and Steve Lambert; grandchildren, Nick (Angela) Zimmerman, Katie (Blake) Fetzer, Brandon Lambert and Keisha (Paul) Cook; great grandchildren, Emily, Atisyn, Bentlee, Maverick, Delyla, Jared, Jensen, Gloria, Emory, Drake and Eleanor; friend and caregiver, Lisa Wagner; and lifelong friends, Richard and Betty Gould.

She was preceded in death by her father, Miles Moore; mother, Alvannie Moore; husband, Clifford; and 11 siblings.

Friends may call on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, September 19 at the funeral home, with Pastor Bruce Sparks officiating. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Seville following the service.
