Cat left this earth and entered her heavenly home to be with her late husband and beloved son on Thursday August 14, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her husband Donnie Marbut, her son Terry Marbut, parents William D and Eva Gidley Shields, step - mother Jimmie Lee Shields, sisters Donaleen Marbut and Dee Heath, Brothers Comer Shields, Whitey Shields, Buddy Shields, and Horace Porter, Sister in law Wylene McGinnis and brother in law Ennis Marbut.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Cathy Marbut, Daughter in law Andrea Jolley Marbut, granddaughters Stephanie (Jay Gazaway) Marbut, Shayanna (Jeremy) Colvin, Sierra (BJ) Sewell. Great grandkids, Ryleigh, Sadie, Lillie, Emmarie, Judson, Turner, and Camden. Chosen son and daughter Leonard and Sherian Kiser and a host of nieces and nephews.
Cat attended Hokes Bluff Methodist Church. She had a weekly gathering in her home called Prayer Band where breakfast was served, a devotion was read and cards were sent to the sick, hurting and homebound. She graduated from Hokes Bluff High school in 1950. She retired from Goodyear Tire + Rubber. She will be remembered by so many for her amazing cooking, the sweets she made for friends and neighbors, and visits to nursing homes. She was a beloved "MawMaw" to so many in the community and will be greatly missed.
Paul Bearers will be Jimbo Williams, Greg England, Larry Sandlin, BI Sewell, Jeremy Colvin, Jay Gazaway, Josh McGuffey, and Leonard Kiser.
