Funeral service for Terry Randall Amberson will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home. Rev. Eddie Gooch and Rev. Rickey Smith will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Piedmont. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of service Sunday.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Janie Jones Amberson, parents: James "Bo" and Kathleen Amberson.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Leighann (Joey) Martin, Brandi (Wesley) Todd, Tammy Brown, and Camille (Matt) Whaley, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, special brother-in-law: Dwayne Jones.
Mr. Amberson was born December 4, 1947, he graduated from Piedmont High School in 1966. He attended Jacksonville State University until being drafted in the US Army to serve in the Vietnam Era. After returning home, he went to work at Goodyear Tire and Rubber where he worked for over 35 years.
He was a member of Hokes Bluff Methodist Church. He enjoyed horses, bird dogs, camping, spending time with family, and telling stories. He enjoyed talking to people and made friends with everyone he met. He showed his love by cooking for others. He was proud to have served his country.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.
