Catherine N. Shalloo

Catherine N. Shalloo, 87, of Brielle passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Born in Orange and raised in West Orange, NJ, she graduated from West Orange High School before working for as an analyst for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company and later as owner of The Ladybug Boutique in Spring Lake. As an active member of the Jersey Shore community, Cathy served in the Bayberry Garden Club of Brielle, Garden Club of Spring Lake, St. Marks Altar Rosary Society, Brielle Historical Society, Women of Irish Heritage, and Honorary Chairperson of the Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer. Known to many locals as the "Ladybug Lady", her passion for green gardening led her to receive the Perennial Bloom Award and the Award of Honor from the Garden Club of New Jersey. Above all else, most important to Cathy was her faith, family, and friends.
Cathy is predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Daniel R. Shalloo Sr., parents Ivy and James Nolan, brother Joseph (Barbara) Nolan, sister Margaret (Walter) Reinhardt, and sister Frances (Robert) Heugle. She is survived by her children Timothy (Farmingdale), Christine (Brick), and Daniel & Heidi (Brielle); her grandchildren Corporal Isabel Shalloo, USMC Active Duty, Nathan, Keira, and Phoebe and great-grandson Eric.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at St. Mark's Church, 215 Crescent Parkway, Sea Girt, NJ 08750.
