Catherine A. Stagnitto (Paparone)
Victor: Passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at age 96. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Philip N. Stagnitto; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jacquelyn Paparone; parents, Joseph and Virginia Paparone. She leaves her cherished brother Dominic Paparone; children, Linda (Thomas) Nally, Joseph (Susan) Stagnitto, Karen (Carl) Petito; grandchildren, Kathleen (Everett) Cragle, Debora (Jake) Hart, David (Sarah) Stagnitto, Steven Stagnitto, Julie (Ian) Steel, Sarah (Denis) Reilly, Daniel (Genevra) Petito, Michael (Malcolm Keim) Petito; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Catherine was born on Thursday, July 12, 1928 and lived close to her family and family farm all of her life in Victor, NY. She lovingly wore many hats over her long and beautiful life. In her early years she was proud of her work as editor of her high school newspaper, at the Dari-An custard stand in Farmington, as a secretary to Howard Samuels at Kordite and then later as a secretary at Kodak, as well as her work winding resistors for the space program at Sage Electronics in the 1960s. She was a volunteer, serving her community through fundraising for Serenity House, working at the Victor Food Cupboard and cooking for funeral brunches for St Patrick's Church. Catherine was a caregiver, always putting others first and lifting them up. In her later life and for many years Catherine welcomed patrons and friends every day with her warm smile and caring heart at the family owned Village Yarn & Fiber Shop in East Rochester where her focus was charitable knitting for local hospitals, refugees, and nursing homes, and her specialty was grandmotherly counseling and camaraderie. She was passionate about fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association in memory of her late husband Philip and giving to St. Jude's Hospital. She deeply loved her family, her community and her life, and will be missed by all.
