Catherine Ann Towner

Catherine Towner was born on August 7th, 1955 in San Francisco, California to parents Betty and Harold Heisch. Catherine passed away on May 12th, 2025 at the age of 69. Cathy was a retired elementary school teacher and loved her kids. Cathy loved her family and spending time with others. She would always make it a point to call, text or FaceTime with every family member and friend regularly. Whether that was to check in on their health, share that day's Bing graphic, or chat about the newest K-drama on Netflix. She loved to talk to others, even strangers, and couldn't pass up a theme, sending color-coordinated holiday boxes to her grandsons every month and making her own costumes for Halloween, her favorite holiday. She became passionate about scrapbooking later in life and loved to spend her free time creating books and making memories with her cropping friends. She had a sweet tooth for Almond Joys and Kit Kats, and would absolutely never pass up a piece of warm sourdough bread.
Catherine is preceded in death by her brother Robert Heisch (Moscow, ID), her brother Donald Heisch (Cumming, GA), and her sister Nancy Heisch (Watsonville, CA). She is survived by her son Shawn Towner (Modesto, CA), her daughter Elizabeth Miyoshi (Stamford, CT), her brother William Heisch (Auburn, CA), her sister Susan Wolf (El Dorado Hills, CA), and her grandchildren, Henry Miyoshi (Stamford, CT), Peter Miyoshi (Stamford, CT), Karina Vieyra (Modesto, CA), and Celeste Vieyra (Modesto, CA).
Her greatest gift was the love she gave so freely. She was the heart of our family, and her warmth, laughter, and kindness will remain with us always.
